Valerie McCarney is an
Expressive Art Educator, visual artist and muralist. A
visual artist of twenty five years, McCarney has
studied both here and abroad. McCarney is an art
educator and expressive arts instructor for children
and adults in a variety of settings.
With support from many community institutions,
McCarney has designed and led over 40 mural projects
engaging at-risk youth. She has led mural projects in
schools as well as murals in many private homes.
McCarney designs and paints fine art guitars for a
high-end guitar company. Recently she began offering a
service to pregnant women, "Creating a memory of your
babies first Home", a plastercaste of the woman's
belly.
McCarney has exhibited her artwork locally and
internationally and is included in a number of private
and corporate collections. A certified hypnotherapist,
dream and energy worker, and a hospice volunteer,
McCarney maintains a sincere interest in using the
arts to heal.
