This piece is part of a three part series:
Breaking the Ice (which sold in 2006), Fire & Ice (which sold in 2007), and Black Ice. The series deals with the following concepts: creating something new and beautiful out of something broken, realizing that one can always make a fresh start by painting over or layering, and embracing the opposites in life. Mostly, though, the series is about connection. Many things connect the three pieces-the handmade paper, the colors, and the ice elements in each piece. We are all connected, whether or not we accept that fact. If we saw each other has an extension or connection of ourselves, we just might treat each other with a little more respect.
