In life, we are taught to avoid mistakes. Mistakes, in reality, are invaluable to us. Mistakes are the raw material of learning. Mistakes present us with opportunities, and are sources of fresh inspiration.
Growing up, I was a straight A student and a perfectionist. I was always more critical of myself than others were critical of me. The most valuable lesson I’ve learned in life is that no one is perfect. We are human, and as humans, we make mistakes. My artistic life is where I can allow my imperfections to show most clearly, and now I have come to cherish these imperfections.
